Giving birth in nature on Lifetime’s all-new series “Born in the Wild”

No hospitals – No doctors – Just nature

BORN IN THE WILD

Ric talks to Amy and Jeff Hammond. They have nine children. Five were born at home with the help of a midwife. One birth even went one step beyond a home birth and into the wild. Follow their story as well as that of other couples in Lifetime’s all-new unscripted series, Born in the Wild, which documents couples’ personal decisions to give birth in nature. Born in the Wild airs Tuesdays at 10 pm ET/PT on Lifetime.

In this new series, families take one step beyond homebirth and make the powerful choice to experience childbirth in the great outdoors. Women are choosing to go away from epidurals and hospitals and have babies at home. These mothers are taking it to another level and having their babies outside, in nature. In Born in the Wild, the women are relying solely on their body’s response on what to do next instead of depending on the sounds and beeps of machines.

Jeff and Amy Hammond live in Arizona. Jeff works in Sales and Amy is a homemaker and homeschool teacher. They have nine children, the last 8 kids were born at home, and the last 5 with the same midwife. Amy Hammond says, I wanted our son’s welcome into the world to be gentle, tranquil. By birthing in the wild we were able to fully focus on his arrival and the amazing miracle of birth and new life.”
