Casual — the Golden Globe®-nominated Series is Back for Season Two on Hulu Ric Speaks with the Show’s Star, Comedic Actress Michaela Watkins

Casual — the Golden Globe®-nominated comedy series from Oscar®-nominated director Jason Reitman (Juno, Up in the Air) returned for its second season on Hulu. The critically acclaimed series (already renewed for a third season) centers on Valerie Cole, a divorced mom and sex therapist (Michaela Watkins) who rediscovers herself while living with her brother Alex and teenage daughter Laura. After a season full of disastrous dates, both Valerie and Alex try to rebuild their lives outside the home, as new friends, business partners, boyfriends and girlfriends try to distract them from a shared and recurring history of dysfunction. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it’s “funny, strongly realized, self-assured and a joy to watch.”

Viewers may recognize Michaela Watkins as a former Saturday Night Live cast member (who made her mark with spot-on impressions of Arianna Huffington, Barbara Walters and Kathie Lee Gifford’s sidekick Hoda Kotb.) She also appeared in Amazon’s Transparent, Netflix’s Wet Hot American Summer, as well as Modern Family, Veep, The Goldbergs, New Girl, Trophy Wife and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Michaela will soon be seen in the film The House alongside Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler — a comedy about two parents who accidentally spend the money set aside for their daughter’s college tuition, then decide to open an underground casino operated by their family and friends.
