Oscar and Emmy nominee Mary McDonnell from TNT’s “Major Crimes”

Major Crimes, a spin-off of the series The Closer, explores how the American justice system approaches the art of the deals as law enforcement officers and prosecutors work together to score a conviction.
In the series, McDonnell stars as Los Angeles Police Captain Sharon Raydor, who heads up a special squad within the LAPD that deals with high-profile or particularly sensitive crimes. McDonnell originated the role on the series The Closer which earned her a Primetime Emmy Nomination.

This season on Major Crimes, the squad will be called upon to investigate the disappearance of two kids and their father, the death of the defendant in a rape trial and a complex case involving arranged marriages and diplomatic immunity. On the home front, Sharon Raydor tries helping Rusty, a formerly homeless teen she’s taken in, put his turbulent past behind him. This goal is made far more difficult when a member of the young man’s biological family returns, threatening Rusty’s hard won stability.
