Retro-Futuristic Design & Fashion Take Center Stage In New GSN Competition Series “Steampunk’d” Premiering Wednesday August 19th at 10 pm ET/PT and then moving to it’s regular time Wednesday at 9 pm ET/PT on GSN

Hosted by The Real’s Jeannie Mai, Steampunk’d seeks to discover the most talented and versatile steampunk designer in America. What is steampunk? Inspired by 19th century industrial steam-powered machinery, Steampunk is a retro-futuristic design movement seen in everything from fashion, to technology, to pop culture. In Steampunk’d, the contestants (also known as “Makers”) work in teams and compete in a series of pressure-filled challenges designed to test their unique abilities to transform ordinary objects and fashion into creative masterpieces. Each week one of the 10 Makers will be eliminated and the last one standing will take home the $100,000 grand prize.

Jeannie Mai is known to TV viewers as one of five dynamic hosts of the popular new daytime talk show The Real. Mai is a frequent guest fashion expert for the Today Show, Wendy Williams and E! News. Other credits include hit shows such as Fashion Star, NBC’s Golden Globe Awards pre-show,The Biggest Loser, numerous Miss Universe and Miss America pageants, Asia’s Next Top Model and Extra. Before becoming a television personality, Jeannie was a celebrity makeup artist. Throughout her career, she has worked with many celebrities including: Sarah Jessica Parker, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Aniston, Christina Aguilera and Kelly Osbourne.
