Sleep Awareness Week is Coming Up! Daylight Savings Time Sleep Tips With Dr. Michael Breus, “The Sleep Doctor”

For Many of Us, Spring Forward = Lost Sleep.
Learn How to Better Adjust to the Time Change
And Develop Better Sleep Habits Overall.

We’re about to enter Sleep Awareness Week (March 6-13) and prepare to “spring forward” with Daylight Savings Time on March 12. Yet statistics show that Americans aren’t getting enough sleep.

A recent survey by Wakefield Research for Princess Cruises found nearly three-quarters of Americans take at least one day off a year just to sleep, while 40% take five or more days off per year (a full work week) just to catch up on shut-eye. And half of all Americans think they would be happier if they could get more sleep. So, what’s holding them back?

Sleep expert Dr. Michael Breus discusses with Ric how Americans can develop a better relationship with sleep, starting with tips on how to adjust to Daylight Savings Time and offer up solutions to help people find the path to, and perks of, a good night’s rest.

The first step to achieving better sleep is to find the right bed. Dr. Breus partnered with Princess Cruises to develop the Princess Luxury Bed, which integrates the latest thinking in the science and design of sleep. These new beds will be rolled out to every stateroom across the Princess fleet through 2018, and are also available for consumers to bring into their own homes through its online retail store.

Michael Breus is the best-selling author of two sleep books and served as the official sleep representative of WebMD. He regularly appears on Dr. Oz and is a sought-after expert to discuss sleep issues. He discusses America’s sleep deficit and the benefits and how-to’s of a good night’s sleep at home… and on vacation.
