Raychelle Meyers was raised in a low-income home and
decided early on that she would set a new trend for her
family and shatter the curse of poverty. Today she’s
CEO of the non-profit Apples & Oranges which manages
over 100 poverty-fighting programs in Texas. Besides
providing typical support services like after-school
care and nutrition there are innovative programs that
teach teens how to launch their own business by showing
them how to legally register their own businesses,
write a business plan, interact with business
professionals, and obtain funding and grants. Meyers
can discuss how the program works to empower teens to
break the cycle of poverty. Raychelle Meyers is the
author of “Confined Minds: Break Free from Imprisoned
Thoughts.”
