Born in Dornach, Switzerland in 1979, Teja A. Jaensch immigrated to Australia as a young boy. Growing up on the outskirts of Sydney, he attended Lorien Novalis School where he developed his love of writing, with his first book, a novella called Yi Sheng: Remember the Spirit, being part of his final dissertation.
After completing degrees in Chinese Medicine and International Studies at the University of Technology, Sydney, and the Yunnan Normal University in Kunming, China, where he was on the Dean’s Merit List of Academic Excellence, and won the AACMA and SunTen prizes for Academic Achievement. He undertook his post-graduate studies at the Hunyuan Research Institute, and co-authored The Lost Heart of Medicine.
Teja runs a busy clinic with his wife and is the head coach at the Kung Fu Academy in the Hills District of Sydney, and is working on his Masters in Chinese Medicine at the University of Western Sydney.
