Dr. Peter Ward worked on earthquake and volcano risk for 27 years with the US Geological Survey. He played a key role in developing the US National Earthquake Hazard Reduction Program. His specialty is communicating earthquake risk to the general public and how to minimize earthquake loss.
In 1990, he created and produced a 24-page magazine in three languages about The Next Big Earthquake in the San Francisco Bay Area: Are you prepared?
