Reitman brings his flare for dark comedy to the small screen this fall. The Hulu original series centers on divorced mom Valerie (Michaela Watkins) as she rediscovers herself while living with her brother (Tommy Dewey) and teenage daughter. The series has been well received by critics. The Hollywood Reporter says, “It’s funny, strongly realized, self-assured and a joy to watch.” Casual was created by Zander Lehmann.
Michaela Watkins is best known for starring on Saturday Night Live and the sitcom Trophy Wife. Watkins co-created (with writing partner and fellow Groundling, Damon Jones) the short-lived 2014 USA Network comedy series Benched. Watkins and Jones were also executive producers on the show.
Tommy Dewey is best known for his role on The Mindy Project. He played Mindy’s sports agent boyfriend for a few episodes. He also had roles in Step Up Revolution, The Escort and 17 Again.
