Formerly known as Alberto Del Rio during his time in the WWE, Alberto El Patron, the reigning AAA Heavyweight Champion, is a Mexican aristocrat born into Lucha Libre royalty. The son of legendary Dos Caras and the nephew of international star Mil Mascaras, El Patrón has blazed his own legendary path through the world of professional wrestling. That path has now brought him to Lucha Underground, on the El Rey Network.
As a young man, Alberto El Patron earned his way on to the Mexican National Wrestling team, winning numerous medals and championships. His success continued not only in professional wrestling but also mixed martial arts where he showed his natural athletic ability with a streak of six victories. In the WWE, he cemented his legacy by winning four world championships between 2009 and 2014, as well as the 2011 Royal Rumble.
Now, Alberto El Patron becomes the latest luchador to join Lucha Underground (from Emmy® Award-winning producer Mark Burnett). Every Wednesday night on El Rey, El Patron will showcase his skills as part of a roster of international stars, including Chavo Guerrero Jr., Konnan, Johnny Mundo (formerly John Morrison), Prince Puma and more.
