Find out what happens when bad people make good TV in UnREAL. Lifetime’s new scripted series “UnReal” premieres Monday June 1st at 10pm ET/CT

Ric talks with stars Shiri Appleby (Girls)and Constance Zimmer (House of Cards, Entourage)

The provocative new Lifetime drama goes behind-the-scenes for a fictional glimpse into the chaos surrounding production of a dating competition program, revealing just how far reality producers go to make drama on screen. Americans love a good reality dating show. And UnREAL takes a look at the bad people who make that good TV audiences just can’t seem to get enough of!

Shiri Appleby is best known for her playing Liz Parker on TV’s Roswell and roles on Girls, ER, Life Unexpected and Chicago Fire. Her film credits include A Time for Dancing, Havoc and Charlie Wilson’s War.

Constance Zimmer will be seen in the upcoming Entourage movie, in theaters June 5th. She portrays Janine Skofsky on Netflix’s House of Cards, and is perhaps best known for her roles as Dana Gordon in HBO’s Entourage and Clair Simms on ABC’s Boston Legal.

Lifetime’s UnREAL is set against the backdrop of the fictional hit dating competition show, “Everlasting.” It’s led by flawed heroine Rachel Goldberg (Appleby,) a young producer whose sole job is to manipulate the relationships with, and among, the contestants to provide the dramatic and outrageous footage the program’s dispassionate EP demands (Zimmer.) What ensues is an eye-opening look at what happens in the crazy world of unscripted television, where being a contestant can be vicious and being a producer, a whole other reality.
