From the producers of Breaking Bad, Shut Eye tells the story of the underground world of Los Angeles storefront psychics and the organized crime syndicate that runs them. Charlie Haverford (Jeffrey Donovan), a Vegas magician turned psychic who works for a family that owns and operate a string of psychic parlors. Everything changes after Charlie receives a blow to the head that alters the nature of his visions, bringing a shred of truth to his life as a scammer.
Jeffrey Donovan is best known for his starring role in the hit USA drama, Burn Notice. Most recently, he starred as Dodd Gerhardt in the second season of the Golden Globe®-nominated FX series Fargo. Earlier last year, Jeffrey was seen in Denis Villeneuve’s feature Sicario alongside Josh Brolin, Emily Blunt, and Benicio Del Toro. Late last year, Jeffrey filmed the Rob Reiner–directed feature LBJ, where he plays John F. Kennedy alongside Woody Harrelson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Richard Jenkins. Last year he also shot the feature film Shot Caller, directed by Ric Roman Waugh.
Last year, Strickland starred in the first season of the ABC anthology series Secrets and Lies, which also starred Ryan Phillippe and Juliette Lewis. Strickland is perhaps best known for her role as Dr. Charlotte King on the ABC drama Private Practice, which earned her the 2011 PRISM Award for Best Female Performance in a Drama Series with a Multi-Episode Storyline. On the big screen, Strickland appeared in the critically-acclaimed Ridley Scott drama American Gangster, in which she played opposite Russell Crowe. She also starred in Tyler Perry’s The Family That Preys with Kathy Bates, Sanaa Lathan, Taraji P. Henson, and Alfre Woodard.
