It Is Possible To Teach Old Dogs New Tricks!

For more than 40 years, Tony Award® Honoree for Excellence in Theater and animal trainer Bill Berloni has been rescuing dogs – including senior dogs – from shelters and training them for television, film and stage performances. He is currently training his 10-year-old adopted Cairn Terriers to play “Toto,” Dorothy’s feisty terrier, in NBC’s production of The Wiz Live! that will air on December 3.

In celebration of National Adopt-a-Senior-Pet month, Bill Berloni has partnered with Purina Pro Plan to showcase why senior dogs make great pets and encourage people to consider adopting a senior pet.

What many dog owners don’t know is that dogs are considered senior at age seven. The glucose metabolism in their brains begins to change which can affect memory, learning, awareness or decision making. Purina Pro Plan BRIGHT MIND Adult 7+ formulas contain enhanced botanical oils shown to promote alertness and mental sharpness in dogs seven and older. To help his 10-year-old dogs prepare for the role of a lifetime as Toto, Bill Berloni is feeding BRIGHT MIND Adult 7+ to keep them performing at their best. He can share his tips for training and caring for senior dogs.
