Based on His Life Story — and His Best-Selling Novel — the Heartwarming Film Paper Angels is Now Available on DVD
Arriving on DVD in time for the holidays, Paper Angels, starring Josie Bisset (The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Melrose Place) and Matthew Settle (Gossip Girl) tells the story of a young boy whose life is changed after enrolling in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. According to country singer Jimmy Wayne, whose real life and best-selling novel Paper Angels inspired the movie, “When I was nine years old my ‘paper angel’ hung on an Angel Tree in a mall just like the children in the film. I received my first guitar that Christmas and years later I was performing at Madison Square Garden with a record deal. I’m where I am today because of the generosity of The Salvation Army and those who take part in the Angel Tree program.”
Jimmy Wayne is a former foster kid turned country music singer/songwriter whose songs and story highlight his mission to bring awareness to former foster system kids who become homeless. His hits include “Put Your Hand In Mine,” “I Love You This Much,” “Paper Angels,” and “Do You Believe Me Now,” for which he earned the millionaire award for having one million radio spins in America. In 2009, Jimmy toured with Brad Paisley and recorded “Sara Smile” with Daryl Hall and John Oates. A national spokesperson for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), Jimmy walked halfway across America to raise awareness for kids aging out of the foster system. His latest book, A Walk to Beautiful, a personal memoir about growing up as a homeless teenager,
is a New York Times Best-Seller.
