SLEEPLESS IN AMERICA with Susan Smith Jones, PhD.

Over the past 40 years, Americans have cut their snooze time by one to two hours a night.  We now sleep less than people in any other industrialized country.  Chronic sleeping problems afflict as many as 70 million Americans, costing the nation billions in medical expenses, accidents and lost productivity, according to studies.  Last year, doctors wrote a record 43 million prescriptions for sleeping pills.
