TLC’s annual Say Yes To The Prom event helps make a difference in the lives of young women by promoting confidence and a positive self-image. Monte Durham, Fashion Director and star of TLC’s Say Yes To The Dress: Atlanta, will once again host the events, discussing this season’s newest styles and hottest trends. It allows participating girls to choose from thousands of donated prom dresses, work with mentors, interact with Monte for a one-on-one style session, and show off their personalized prom day looks during a red carpet reveal.
Now in it’s fourth year, the initiative will again expand – reaching more girls in more cities than ever before with five events to be held in Silver Spring, New York City, Denver, Miami and Los Angeles. The events provide deserving high school girls across the country a chance to develop mentoring relationships with industry professionals, build their self-confidence and of course, “say yes to the prom dress.”
Monte Durham’s rise from growing up in a small town with a one-room schoolhouse to make a name for himself as a bridal image consultant is impressive. He currently shares the screen glamourizing brides on Say Yes To The Dress: Atlanta with his best friend, Lori Allen, owner of Bridals by Lori. His no-nonsense fashion commentary and naughty sense of humor have made him a favorite and regular guest on cable news shows. He runs a line of hair care products that aim to help women achieve salon-quality results at home. In his spare time, he is devoted to work with a DC-area hospice organization, and Virginia Welsh Terrier Rescue.
