The Search Is On for the Best Teen Female Soccer Player in the Country! Three-Time Gold Medalist and Women’s National Champ Heather Mitts Joins Ric to Discuss the Search for the Next Soccer Superstar, and the Increased Popularity of the Sport in the U.S.

Nickelodeon’s all-new season of Soccer Superstar is seeking the best young female soccer player in the nation. The NickSports reality competition series is hosted by three-time Olympic gold medalist Heather Mitts and features a panel of all-star judges including National Soccer Hall of Famer Marcelo Balboa. The second season of the series airs on Nicktoons starting Friday July 15th, and follows the journey of 12 elite female soccer players as they try to win the opportunity to meet and train with a National Women’s Soccer League team and get a shot at being the next Soccer Superstar.

Heather Mitts is a former professional defender in the Women’s Professional Soccer league, a three-time Olympic gold medalist and member of the U.S. Women’s National Team. Mitts runs a soccer camp every summer in which she teaches the basics of the sport. She is married to NFL quarterback A.J. Feeley. She is a native of Ohio and graduate of the University of Florida. Mitts is currently a Soccer Analyst and College Football Sideline Reporter for ESPN, as well as a Soccer Analyst for FOX’s coverage of the Women’s World Cup campaign.
