Surfing champion Carissa Moore

The 10th Anniversary of International Surfing Day is right around the corner and more people than ever are hitting the waves.

Surf Champion Carissa Moore talks about how to get started in this amazing sport!

At just 18 years old, Carissa Moore became the youngest person to ever win the women’s world surfing championship. Just a mere three years later, she’s on the right track to snag another, which would be her third world title! While winning the world title is no easy feat, Carissa has also raised the profile of women’s surfing, a sport predominantly made up of men. She was the first woman invited to participate in the men’s Triple Crown of Surfing competition. To put it mildly, Carissa Moore is on fire – in and out of the ocean.

Carissa is currently in 1st place in the 2014 ASP Women’s World Championship Tour after five events. Her upcoming competition schedule includes trips to France, Portugal & California. The final stop of the tour –known as the Target Maui Pro presented by Schick Hydro Silk– will take place in Maui in November.
