THE BOOK OF THIEVES and the JOKER’S GAME by Summer Friesen

Inheriting a book from his father was not at all the responsibility Abell expected it to be. After his father’s tragic death, Abell’s suspicions grow as he learns about a new world of magic and danger. A world where magic means everything; from determining your wealth, political power, social status, and even friends from enemies. As power and corruption go hand-in-hand, Abell quickly learns that nothing in either worlds is as they seem and faces the decision of finishing his father’s legacy, or not.
The Book of Thieves has been a book I’ve been planning since my sophomore year of high school. As I grew older, the story also grew, changing with me. It started as just an outline and profiles of my characters, but then it slowly progressed to drafting specific scenes that needed to happen. It wasn’t until nursing school that I wrote full chapters. Sometimes during lectures, too. Eventually, the puzzle pieces of Abell’s story were painting out my original plan; a young boy that finds himself alone in the world inherits a book of magic that changes his life. Only later does he realize its importance.https://www.writersrepublic.com/bookshop/book-thieves-and-jokers-gamehttps://summerfriesen.com/
